You might be asking yourself and rightly so, “What qualifies Arlene to be teaching a seminar on abundance?” Let me briefly tell you about my background. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1961. In 1963 I attended the University of Arizona and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in Elementary Education. By this time I had married, given birth to one son and was pregnant with my second one.

My husband and I decided that it would be best for me to stay home and raise our children. Although I followed the “formula” prescribed by my family and culture that was suppose to lead to “…and they lived happily ever after,” I was not happy. I was longing for something I could not even define.

By beginning a dialogue with myself and asking important questions, I realized that my unexplored spiritual self was the missing piece. And so, through the path of metaphysics and Eastern philosophy, I began my spiritual education, practices and experiments. I learned the universal principles that allow anyone and everyone, who so desires, access to the abundance that exists everywhere in our universe. I applied the principles to my life and manifested abundance in very tangible and practical ways.

I continued my role as wife and mother giving birth to a third son. I served the community in many volunteer capacities and life was good!

Yet, over the years I wondered, why do I know what I know and what am I to do with this information beyond using it on a personal level. The answer came in 1998 after hearing Suzi Orman on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show. Since I had created my abundance through spiritual principles, I was not financially savvy and thought it wise to educate myself; so, I decided to buy Orman’s book, The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom.

That same day, during a conversation with a friend who had continually struggled financially for the fifteen years I had known her, I suggested that she also buy the book and we study it together. She agreed. As soon as I hung up the phone I heard a voice within me say, “You know others who are also struggling financially. Call them.” Did I often hear voices? No, but I knew I needed to act on this one!

I had previously led many other groups. They had various names such as meditation group, study group, support group, etc.  All of the previous times I wanted others to participate in the leadership role as well as myself. This time I knew I was the leader with Suzi by my side. I told the participants that I would weave what I had studied over the past twenty-three years into the sessions along with Orman’s material, and where I disagreed with her perspective, I would tell them and give them the opportunity to make their own decisions.

An amazing thing happened the first night of our group. I had an aha, light bulb experience...the kind of experience we long for when we don’t know what we want to be when we grow up. I was filled with joy and excitement. I finally knew what I was to do with all of the knowledge and experience I had gathered over the years. I was to teach people how to create abundance in their lives!

I soon realized that if I was going to teach people how to manifest what they desired I would need more knowledge. Not knowledge about creating material wealth, but knowledge about psychology – how people think, how people act, how people change. After a thirty two year hiatus from education, I enrolled in Prescott College, a college with an individualized, adult program that encourages its students to develop their own curriculum.

After two years, I graduated with a Master of Art’s degree in a program that I personally designed titled Transpersonal Studies: Psychology and Abundance. My thesis, Financial Abundance: Psychological and Spiritual Elements that Impact the Movement from Scarcity to Abundance Consciousness, is available for you to read. It includes the details of how I created financial abundance in my personal life as well as the stories of Napoleon Hill, Oprah Winfrey and two other individuals.
